My name is Yabsera, or Yabi (Yah-bee) for short. I'm an Ethiopian born American based in Chicago, IL USA, and working as a Software & DevOps Engineer in Fintech.
My career in technology began at Locusview, a Tel Aviv–based SaaS startup delivering a digital construction management platform for utility companies. There, I gained early exposure to building and supporting scalable software in a fast-moving product environment.
I later joined the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), the clearinghouse responsible for clearing exchange-listed options in the U.S. At OCC, I worked as a Software Engineer with a strong focus on process automation and DevOps, supporting mission-critical systems in a highly regulated, high-reliability environment.
Most recently, I transitioned into a DevOps Engineer role at Sterling Trading Tech, where I’ve led the containerization of the company’s flagship product. I introduced Kubernetes to the organization by designing and delivering its first fully functional, stable on-premises Kubernetes cluster. This platform is now on track for production deployment in Q2, laying the foundation for improved scalability, reliability, and deployment velocity across the organization.
